Reflecting Back to September 1966

A friend of mine in Sarasota sent me an email the other day with some photos of her granddaughter who is vying for the title of Miss Florida. In the photos she sent me, Betty's granddaughter was trying on lots of beautiful gowns and trying to pick which one she was going to wear in the pageant. I remembered back to September 1966 when I was a finalist in the Miss Teenage Springfield contest. We didn't have to wear any beautiful gowns. I wore a lavender and white checked suit as I played a piece on my flute. I don't remember much about the contest. I didn't win it, but it was fun thinking about being Miss Teenage Springfield.
