Trip to Bentonville, AR
Bob and I hadn't seen his daughter Amy, her husband Jonathan or their boys, Samuel, Jezreel and Daniel since Christmas, so we decided we needed to take a trip to Bentonville, AR to visit them. We left late on Friday and we didn't arrive at the Marriott Hotel where we stayed in Bentonville until 12:30 a.m. Much too late for us, as we are NOT night owls! On Saturday, we moved at a snail's pace, but we finally got over to Amy & Jonathan's house around 11 a.m. We had no specific plans for the day, but Amy wanted to go to the Compton Botanical Gardens. There was a parking lot near the Compton Gardens in a beautiful wooded area with walking trails, so we decided to walk the trails leading up to the gardens. The boys, of course, wanted to take the most difficult trails and us adults wanted to stick to the easier ones. Bob took the boys and off they went to explore the difficult trails. Amy, Jonathan and I stuck to the easier trail. We had planned to meet at the entrance to the gardens. I received a call from Bob less than half an hour from the time we split up and he said the boys were tired and that they were going back to the car. We never made it to the Compton Gardens, but we had a nice walk anyway. After lunch at a Red Robin restaurant, the boys wanted to swim in the Marriott Hotel pool. We had sandwiches for dinner at their house and watched "Tron". After Bob and I said our good-byes this morning, we made the six-hour drive back to Dallas. It was a wonderful weekend and as always, way too short! If you would like to see more photos, here is my Shutterfly album link -- share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8EbMmLJq3aKNZw
